Just finished watching "Khuda Ke Liye". Don't know when was it released, but Life never permits me to do whatever I want to do, on the time. One of the finest movies I ever saw, I must say. I was just wondering, if "Slumdog Millionaire" can be nominated for Oscar, why not "Khuda Ke Liye"? Maybe there had been some reasons it couldn't reach to that level. But if one says that SDM is depiction of reality of India, then KKL is also depiction of reality of Pakistan as well as USA. Why wasn't it promoted to that level? Just because USA was pictured in nasty way in the movie? Well what is shown in the movie about USA, is true. People who were Muslims or resembled Asians were tortured in a wrong manner to the level that they almost became insane or left USA forever with family. Not only the USA government, but even local people who were living in their neighbourhood, and were eating from the same plate till yesterday, started looking at them in a suspicious way. And this was the fact of America. Why wasn't this movie appreciated by any western country? One of the reasons could be that the movie was made in Hindi rather than English. But still I believe, Oscar nominations for regional movies have no language barriers. What I want to say is just Westerns please stop being bias towards easterns. I will surely agree to the comments by Mr. Bachhan on SDM. Westerns can't see progress of Easterns, they are just jealous or maybe they feel inferior when we stand on the ground with them with our shoulders and chest tight. But hey people, remember "The World Is Flat" by Thomas L. Friedman...Today or tomorrow, you will have to fight with us to survive... ;)
